'Field Studies: Bankside' is the second instalment in an ongoing series of pure field recording releases. Recorded on November 13th 2017, these nine tracks document the progression of a day spent at London's Bankside area.

I share a love-hate relationship with London. One one hand, it's a city full of interesting people and places, and there is always something new experience. One the other hand, it is over-crowded, noisy, polluted, and chaotic. What has always bothered me the most about London is that a lot of the people that live and work in the area seem to be exhausted, stressed, and miserable.

When gathering these recordings, I wanted to capture both sides of my relationship with the city - both the exciting and the chaotic - by visiting various spots of attraction and congestion.

I stumbled upon this whilst sampling bits and pieces of the WhiteLab label on Bandcamp, and I’m delighted I did. Absolute killer record. Guitar driven with synth washes and detailing. As a guitar player myself I can see myself noodling along to this. Very cool indeed Anthony Davies
